James Peppi's Obituary
James Rocco Peppi, son of Joseph and Rose D’Mato Peppi was born May 25, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in his home in Fordland, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, ten months, and thirteen days. James was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Samuel Peppi; and two sisters, Lucy Schweger and Theresa Jurek. He is survived by two daughters, Jacquelyn Engel and her husband, Jeffrey, of Fordland, Missouri, and Elizabeth Pfab and her husband, Roger, of Meridian, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Jefferson Engel, Julianna Engel, Jacob Pfab, and Nathanael Pfab; two sisters, Anne Johansen and her husband, Ron, and Marie Fuschillo and her husband, Nick, all of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Frank Peppi and his wife, Jan, of Chicago, Illinois; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. James grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and had lived in Pennsylvania for twenty years before moving to Fordland, Missouri, five years ago to make his home. He was a Regional Manager for Car Quest Auto Parts Stores and served on the Fordland Planning and Zoning Board. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield, Missouri. In his spare time he collected eagles and was an avid reader. He especially enjoyed watching the Chicago and Pittsburg sports teams perform. James was a very good cook, and coming from an Italian background, he loved cooking special dishes for his family and friends. He was the grandchildren’s favorite babysitter and he loved them and his daughters very much. James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the precious memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 10, 2010 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will begian at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
