James M. Pilkenton (Camdenton)'s Obituary
James M. Pilkenton, 72, of Peoria, passed away at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Proctor. He was born April 30, 1943 in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Winfield Scott, Jr. and Alberta (Cash) Pilkenton. James married Catherine Belle Cullen on May 20, 1964 in San Diego, California, she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Beverly (Steve) Standridge of Metamora and Kimberly Hobbick of Germantown Hills; six grandchildren, Rebecca (Paul) Garvey of Germantown Hills, Christopher Joseph of Metamora, Danielle Hobbick of Peoria, William "Scotty" Hobbick of Peoria, Derek Hobbick of Germantown Hills, and Luke Hobbick of Germantown Hills; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Louetta Morgan of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lyvone Beye; infant brother, Pee Wee; and brother-in-law, Barney Morgan.
He was a US Navy Vietnam veteran, serving for 21 years, retiring as a Machinist's Mate Senior Chief.
James last worked for Ruyle Electric for 10 years as a salesman. He previously had worked for BF Goodrich, First of America Bank and for Carrier.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 pm Saturday, August 1, 2015 at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in Myetta Cemetery in Camdenton, Missouri with full military rites.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
