He then joined the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force for twenty-one years. During ten of those years, he was stationed in Hawaii, which he really enjoyed. After retiring from the Air Force in 1974, the family moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home. James worked as a supply and inventory specialist at Fort Leonard Wood for a number of years.
He enjoyed socializing and opened his home to anyone in need. He liked bowling, going to the auto races and working in his yard. He was a supporter of the Lebanon Yellowjackets and was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Minnesota Vikings. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
James was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his life time.
