James Andrew Ragan (Camdenton)'s Obituary
James Andrew Ragan, son of James L. Ragan and E. Illene Ragan, was born,
November 27,1937 in Yuma, Arizona. He departed this life, October 4, 2025, in Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 7 days.
On November 17, 1964 in Kansas, he was united in marriage to Carlyn Rae Anderson. Together they shared 50 years of marriage
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlyn Ragan; parents, James L. & E. Illene Ragan; and great nephew Craig E. Arnett.
He is survived by his niece, Brenda & husband Edward Arnett of Edwards, Missouri; great niece Stephanie and Casey Ledbetter of Warsaw, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
James was raised in Yuma, Arizona where he attended Yuma Catholic Private School. After high school James joined the Navy where he achieved the rank of Seaman (SN), and achieved the National Defense Medal. After leaving the Navy, James worked various jobs, he worked for Gerbes, The Camden County Road District, and in his later years he had a little mechanic shop where he fixed up old cars. James also helped run the family farm, working cattle.
James made a profession of Catholic faith, and occasionally attended St. Anthony Catholic Church.
In his spare time, he loved building model cars, and showing his antique 1949 Ford.
He was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Graveside service for James Ragan will be held Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Climax Springs Cemetery.
