James O. Robison (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James Owen Robison of Licking, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Houston House Nursing Center in Houston, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was eighty-eight years, two months and three days.
James was born January 1, 1935 to Layton and Inez Winfrey Robison in Liberal, Kansas. After graduation, he attended college in New Mexico where he met his first wife, Marilyn. To this union, three children were born. They were married and spent their time traveling the United States, as James was in the propane gas industry. He worked in management for Empire Gas as well as other propane gas company’s.
On April 11, 1986, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Janes and they shared 35 years of happiness and memories. She passed away August 9, 2021.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marilyn; his second wife, Betty; his son, Jimmy, Jr.; his brother, Gene; twin sisters, Helen and Ellen and a sister, Dorothy; a step-daughter, Teresa Jones; a grandson, Copey Duff; his great-grandson, Casen Hoff and his great-granddaughter, Amelia Hoff.
He is survived by his son, Mark Robison and his wife, Nancy of the state of Alabama; two daughters, Dawn Duff and her husband, Ed of the state of New Mexico and Melissa Broyles and her significant other, Dave, of Licking, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Caryn Robison of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In his spare time, James built wooden ships. He spent hours on his craft, paying close attention to each detail on each ship he built. He was always building or tinkering on something. He also wrote poems. He also enjoyed going to Yard Sales, going to Casinos and driving around the countryside.
He had a great sense of humor. He loved his family deeply and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. The memories he has left behind will be valued and treasured for years to some.
