James A. Ross (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James Alfred Ross was born February 11, 1938 in Trumann, Arkansas to Floyd and Zelma Mae Ross.
He departed his life Monday, December 29, 2025 in Northwest Health Center in La Porte, Indiana. He was eighty-seven years, ten months and eighteen days of age at the time of his passing.
James grew up in Arkansas where he completed his schooling. He then joined the United States Air Force where he faithfully served for four years.
On September 15, 1959, he was united in marriage to Linda Rae Posten. They were married over sixty-one years before she passed away in 2021.
In addition to his loving wife, Linda, James is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Zelma Ross; and a son, James Ross.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patty Ross, of La Porte, Indiana; two granddaughters, Jennifer Matthews and her husband, Daniel and Rebecca Sage; his great-granddaughter, Emily; his great-grandson, Hunter; his daughter-in law, Jana Ross; and other relatives and friends.
After James and Linda were married, they made their home in the Michigan City and La Porte, Indiana area. They lived there for thirty-one years where James operated a Charter Boat on Lake Michigan.
He had many stories to tell about his adventures on Lake Michigan and the people he encountered.
Following his retirement in 1992, he and Linda moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
James had returned to La Porte following the passing of his wife, Linda.
A memorial service will be held in April.
