James Switzer (Bolivar)'s Obituary
James Allen “Jim” Switzer, resident of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on July 10,2018 at the age of 61 years. Jim was born on October 17, 1956 in Olathe, Kansas to Roberta Rhoades and David Switzer. He was the grandchild of maternal grandparents, Loyal and Pearl Cossins and paternal grandparents, Erle and Carrie Switzer.
Jim's favorite childhood home was on a farm in Halfway, Missouri. He was baptized at the Bates City Baptist Church. Jim graduated in 1974 from Odessa High School in Odessa, Missouri and spent the majority of his career first as an electrical construction lineman and then as a
residential electrician.
Jim married Sharron Nichols, a 1978 graduate of Odessa High School on May 27, 1977. They enjoyed 41 happily married years with their two sons and their families.
Jim is survived by his wife, their son, Douglas Switzer, daughter-in-law, Lorna Switzer, grandson Cedric Switzer, grandson Alex Switzer, grandson Tyler Turner, and granddaughter Briana Turner; and their son, Jeffrey Switzer, daughter-in-law, Michelle Switzer, granddaughter Abigail Switzer and grandson Caleb Switzer.
Also surviving are: his parents; sisters, Patricia Benedict, Barbara Newell, Cindy Blackman, Susan Arasmith, Amber Switzer, Melva Warren, and brother, Charles Switzer.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, a sister, Donna Switzer, and a brother, Darron Lee.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Goldschmidt Cancer Center in Jefferson City, MO.
