James A Taylor (Seymour)'s Obituary
James Arthur Taylor was born January 24, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, to Jessie L. and Mary Grace (Wilson) Taylor. The family relocated to rural Mountain Grove, Missouri, and bought a farm where he was raised with his brother and five sisters. James attended Mountain Grove schools. In 1978, he joined the United States Army and dutifully served his country for the next ten and a half years as a Combat Engineer 1st Infantry Division.
After honorable discharge in 1988, he came back to the area and finally settled in Seymour, Missouri. James was a committed, full-time farmer who also worked off the farm. He spent several years truck driving and working as a mechanic. He attended and was a member of Seymour Freewill Baptist Church. He was also a member of Wilson-Alexander American Legion Post # 306 and the VFW. An avid outdoorsman, James loved to crappie fish when he could. He also liked to hunt deer, turkey, squirrel, rabbit and other small game. James was a fun-loving dad and grandpa, a caring brother, and a loyal friend and comrade. His family’s hearts were broken when he unexpectedly passed away the morning of Thursday, November 21, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. James has gone too soon at the age of sixty-one years, nine months and twenty-eight days. He was preceded in death by his parents; the first of his two lasting-loves, Daphne, his beloved Dachshund; and Fernando, his potbelly pig he raised as a member of the family for nearly eighteen years.
