James W. Lowery (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James William Lowery, son of Willie and Ora Dismang Lowery, was born December 13, 1934, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, April 24, 2012, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, four months, and eleven days.
On April 28, 1955, he was united in marriage to Dixie Lee Lawson, and to this union one daughter and six sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dixie, on March 31, 2010; and two sons, Teddy Gene and William David Lowery.
James is survived by a daughter, Pam Knapp, and her husband, Ruben, of Lebanon, Missouri, four sons, Gary Lowery, and his wife, Trisha, of Conway, Missouri, Chester Lowery, and his wife, Cheryl, Chris Lowery, and his wife, Christina, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Wallace Lowery, and his wife, Brenda, of Sleeper, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, Jessie, Robert, Shawn, Andreana, David, Candace, Brittany, Kristin, Christopher, Angel, Willie, Christian, Catherine, Brandon, and Stacy; fourteen great-grandchildren, Monylea, J. J., Haleigh, Wyatt, Tyler, Mason, Mercedes, Sophia, Isabella, Landen, Caden, Morgan, Aeden, and Braydon;a sister, Anna Jane Barber, and her husband, Delbert, of Buffalo, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. After he and Dixie were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their family. James worked as a farm hand for several years, and then was employed by Independent Stave Company for thirty-three years.
James had attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.
In his spare time he liked being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, camping, and taking float trips. He also liked walking his dogs and caring for them. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed all of his grandchildren.
James was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the memories he made for them throughout the years.
