James was born and raised in the Hartville area and attended Hartville Schools. After being discharged from the military, he attended classes at what is now OTC and received a business certification. During this time, he met and married Amy, and they resided in Brookline, Missouri, while James worked for the City of Springfield for twelve years. They maintained their farm north of Hartville on weekends until retiring, at which time they moved back to the farm. He later acquired his real estate license as a Broker and worked at Baney Real Estate in Hartville for several years. Although he had several jobs, farming was what he loved.
James had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brookline Southern Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, was an avid storyteller, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will cherish the many wonderful memories we had with him.
