Jan K. Dixon (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Jan K. Dixon, 68, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away on November 8, 2023, after a long illness. She was born on January 16, 1955, in Humansville, Missouri, to the late Jack and Jean (Hopkins) Quillin.
Jan graduated from Fair Play High School in 1973. Following her graduation, she played a vital role in the opening of the first Walmart in Bolivar and worked there for 16 years. In 1987, she retired to dedicate her time to her cherished daughter, Jamie. Jan married Mike Dixon in August of 1985, and they enjoyed 38 happy years together.
As a devoted mother, Jan took great joy in supporting Jamie at her basketball, volleyball, and softball games throughout her upbringing. Jan later became a loving and proud "Nana" to four adored grandchildren: Greyson, Kayden, Brynlee, and Makynlee. She showered them with love and made each one feel special. Jan was always present, cheering them on at their sporting events.
Jan will be remembered for her love of family vacations (especially to Florida) and her dedication to her loved ones. Her warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jan will be deeply missed by her husband, Mike Dixon; her daughter, Jamie (Dixon) Haugsted, and son-in-law, Dakota Haugsted; her grandchildren, Greyson, Kayden, Brynlee, and Makynlee; her brothers, Jack Quillin, Jim (Linda) Quillin, and Joe Quillin; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Beth and David Dixon; her nieces, Jacque Quillin Rooffener, Tisha Clark, and Laura Dixon; her nephews, Jacob and Ethan Dixon; as well as many friends, cousins, great nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jean Quillin; her mother-in-law, Shirley Bryant; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Lula Hopkins; and her paternal grandparents, Earl and Katie Quillin.
Jan's life will be celebrated during a memorial on December 2, 2023, at 2215 W Colgate, Bolivar, Missouri, from 3pm to 5pm. This will be a "come and go" memorial, at the home she shared with her husband, Mike.
