Janet L. Chastain Carney (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Janet Lee Chastain Carney, daughter of Martin and Juanita Pruett Chastain, was born October 25, 1954, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, September 5, 2020, in Windsor Estates, in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, ten months, and twelve days.
On March 8, 1971, she was united in marriage to Donald R. Carney, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Donald, on November 13, 2000; her two daughters that died together in an automobile accident, Belinda Faye Carney and Donnita Ann Carney; and a brother, Martin D. Chastain.
Janet is survived by her mother, Juanita Chastain, of Richland, Missouri; two sisters, Linda Sutton, and her husband, James, and Marla Hankins, and her husband, Skip, all of Richland, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area. After she and Donald were married, they made their home in Lebanon. Janet was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family as much as possible. Following the automobile accident she lived much longer than expected.
She loved music, working puzzles, playing solitaire, coloring, and doing word puzzle books.
Janet was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories they have of her.
