Janet Hunsaker's Obituary
Janet Lorraine Hunsaker, daughter, of Fred and Lena Gibson Thorp, was born August 13, 1938, in Conconully, Washington. She departed this life Friday, January 4, 2008, in Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of sixty-nine years, four months, and twenty-one days. On April 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to Roy Frank Hunsaker, and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Frank, on October 30, 2004. Janet is survived by her daughter, Noel Hansen, and her husband, Greg, of Indianapolis, Indiana; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hansen, and her fiancé, Jason Rossi, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Pat Thorp, of Bremerton, Washington; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as a host of friends. She was born and raised in the State of Washington. After she and Frank were married, they made their home in various locations while Frank was serving in the United States Navy. During these years, they lived in San Diego, California, Morocco, Seattle, Washington, and in several other cities in the State of California. After Frank retired from the military, they made their home in Bothell, Washington, and then Index, Washington. In 1996, Janet and Frank moved to Lebanon, Missouri and made their home. Janet had attended the First Assembly of God in Lebanon for several years. She was a gifted and talented artist, working mainly in oils and pastels. She was a member of the Lebanon Art Guild and Women Artists of the West, and had received many awards and prizes for her paintings. She also had sold several of her art works. She possessed a great fondness for all kinds of animals, and particularly for cats. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her granddaughter. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and all that she accomplished and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
