Janet McCune's Obituary
Janet “Gail” McCune, daughter of John Thomas and Ruby Delores (Hutson) Dugger, was born November 30, 1963, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, February 12, 2009, in her home, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of forty-five years, two months, and twelve days.
On August 21, 1982 she was united in marriage to James Arthur McCune and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Kay Dugger; and a brother, Joe Dugger.
Gail is survived by her loving husband, James, of the home; four children, Justin, Jason, John and Selena McCune, all of the home; two brothers, Jack Dugger, and his wife, Sharon, of Springfield, Missouri, and Jerry Dugger, of Hartville, Missouri; two sisters, Judy Philpott, and her husband, James, of Hartville, Missouri, and Janice Roy, and her husband, Dale, of Ava, Missouri; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
She was born and raised in Hartville and attended Hartville Schools. After she met and married James they moved to Kansas City, where she worked for Universal Engraving a few years before returning back to Hartville in 1989. Besides being a devoted homemaker she had also worked at Casey’s General Store, H.D. Lee, Thomas Apparel, and helped on the farm. Gail had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Hill Top Church, where she was raised and attended many years.
She centered her life on her family and loved spending time with them. In her spare time she enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping and reading.
Gail was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt and was a kind and caring friend and neighbor. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for family and many dear friends.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 16, 2009 in Holman-Howe Chapel of Hartville with burial in Wynne Cemetery, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, of Hartville, Missouri. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home. A memorial has been established and may be made through the funeral home at P.O. Box 236, Hartville, Missouri 65667.
