Janet Monnahan's Obituary
Janet Marie Monnahan, daughter of Hobart H. and Iva Mae Catron Kimball, was born November 23, 1945, in Oakland, California. She departed this life Tuesday, November 28, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, and five days. She was preceded in death by her parents. Janet is survived by two daughters, Marie Warnick, and Michael Reid, and Carol Monnahan, all of Lebanon, Missouri; five sons and their wives, Paul and Sonny Monnahan, of Kansas City, Missouri, Hobart and Deborah Monnahan, James and Pamela Monnahan, Ronnie Monnahan, and Rebecca Shields, and David and Tammy Monnahan, all of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Alexander, and his wife, Dorothy, of Aurora, Missouri; two sisters, Leanna Lucas, and her husband, Mike, of Fair Grove, Missouri, and Shirley Stilley, and her husband, Lonnie, of Rogersville, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in California, and then moved with her family to the Fair Grove community, in 1955. She graduated from Marshfield High School in the Class of 1963. She lived most of her young adult years in Elkland and Fair Grove community, and then moved to the Grovespring and Lebanon area. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and loving mother, Janet worked as a seamstress for the H. D. Lee Company for several years. Later, she worked for Rue Industries until retiring. Janet had made her profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of Community Baptist Church near Lebanon. She loved her church and enjoyed the fellowship that it offered. In her spare time she liked working in her garden. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
