Janet Moore-Sanders (Seymour)'s Obituary
Janet K. Moore-Sanders of Seymour, Missouri, departed this life Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 60.
Born Janet Kay Street, she and her twin-brother Jimmy Ray were born February 26, 1954, in Pittsburg, California, to James and Bessie (Manar) Street. Janet lived in the Seymour area for over 45 years. She was joined in marriage to Darrell Gene Moore, Sr. on June 26, 1971, in Diggins, Missouri, and of this union three children were born.
Janet worked for Hutchens Industries in Seymour for over 10 years as a welder and was affectionately nicknamed as, “Dumplin”, by her co-workers. She was well known for her boisterous laughter and her loving, generous heart. Some of her favorite past times were playing Canasta with family, going to bingo with her sister, JoAnn, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Her greatest loves were her grandchildren and spending time with them. She especially loved being involved in their activities from watching them playing basketball, soccer, swim meets and being supportive in their school functions.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Darrell Gene Moore, Sr. in 1991; and her father, James D. Street in 2013.
Janet leaves behind her mother Bessie (Manar) West and husband Jim of Hollister, her brother Ronnie Street and wife Pam of Springfield, her twin brother Jimmy Street and wife Delphine of Valdosta, Georgia, her sister JoAnn Wormington and husband Ralph of Diggins, her brother Gerald Street and his wife Phuong of Diggins and her youngest brother Perry Street and wife Elizabeth of Mansfield. She is also survived by her children; daughter, Jennia Moore of Diggins, Missouri; son, Darrell Moore Jr. and significant other Christy Easley, of Springfield; daughter, Jeanette Moore and husband Abdo Al-mahajeri, of Springfield; stepdaughter, Robin Shaw of Smithville, Missouri; and “like-a-daughter,” Stacy (Mason) and husband Jihad Ahmad, of Seymour; grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Emily Moore, Ameera Al-mahajeri, and Baby Darrell Moore III ; step grandchildren, Amanda (Gage) Cobine, Ashley (Gage) McIntosh, Devin Myers, Wadeea Al-mahajeri, Brandon Heath, Bobbi Heath and Jamie Heath; and two great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Gage and Haydon Gage; nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of dear friends and neighbors.
The family wishes to invite friends and family to join them for a luncheon at The Gathering Hall in Seymour upon the conclusion of graveside services.
Memorials have been established for the Seymour YMCA Strong Y Program.
