Janet Sue Tatman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Janet Sue Tatman, daughter of Ralph and Neva Snow Sutton, was born July 25, 1941, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, December 4, 2022, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, four months, nineteen days.
On April 4, 1970, she was united in marriage to Alvin Lecon Tatman, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin, on December 10, 2009; and a great-granddaughter, June Herdman.
Janet is survived by two daughters, Janet Lynn King, and her husband, Greg, and Sarah Herdman, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, KateLynne, Luke, Heather, and Blake; seven great-grandchildren, Miriam, Emet, Laila, Ari Goss, Nova, Samuel and Ashlea Herdman; a sister, Sammye K. Cogdill, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1959. After she and Alvin were married, they made their home in several locations, mostly stateside, while Alvin served in the Military. They made their home in Clarksville, Tennessee for forty years, and then retired to Lebanon. Janet was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
She professed to being a “soldier in God’s Army, and prayed for everyone.
She loved her pets, especially cats, and liked caring for her plants. Her life rotated around her family, pets, and her flowers. She liked quilting, watching old westerns, soap operas, and dancing to the Oldies in her kitchen. She had a unique sense of humor, was extremely whimsical, and loved her family dearly and liked having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
