Janice Burnett (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Janice Ann “Janny” Burnett, 55, of Bolivar, MO passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO.
Janice was born in Iola, KS on August 22,1963 to Wilma Ethridge (Hood) and William Ethridge.
Janice was married to her devoted husband Kalvin Burnett on July 21, 1979 in Galmey, MO. She then went on to proudly support her husband as a Navy wife during his 14 years of service in the United States Navy. After returning with her family to Bolivar, she found her calling as a care provider and eventually supervisor of two residential care facilities which allowed her to share her loving kindness to all those she provided care to for nearly 11 years. Janice enjoyed nothing more than spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Her love and generosity for those she loved could be seen and felt in nearly everything she did. Whether it was planting a big enough garden to make certain there would be plenty of homemade jam and salsa for everyone or the hours of loving thought and care she put into each of the beautiful quilt she had a hand in making as gifts for her loved ones.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, William Ethridge, step-father Carl Hood, sister Linda Mincks, and brother Tim Ethridge.
Janice leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband Kalvin Burnett of Bolivar, MO, son Carl Burnett of Bolivar, MO, daughter Christy Jenkins of Bolivar, MO, daughter Heidi Burnett of Bolivar, MO, mother Wilma Hood of Bolivar, MO, brother Bill Ethridge and wife Pauline of Bolivar, MO, sister Chris Lewis and husband James of Bolivar, MO, brother Wayne Ethridge and wife Mary of Bolivar, MO. she is also survived by her grandchildren; Natalie Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, Kristina Eisman, Kyle Burnett, Lukas Burnett, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial Contributions can be made in Janice’s honor, to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.
