Janice McCormack's Obituary
Janice Illene McCormack, daughter of John Francis and Myrtle Lenore (Cantrell) McCormack was born July 28, 1942 near Seymour in Webster County, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri at the age of sixty-seven years, eleven months and seventeen days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Rick McCormack.
Janice is survived by two brothers, Jerry McCormack and his wife, Arlene, and Roger McCormack and his wife, Doylita, all of Seymour, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Carol McCormack, of Seymour, Missouri; nine nieces and nephews, Laura Lathem, Jackie Colston, Kathleen Copeland, Alicia Edwards, Glenda Owens, Leann Strickland, Ashley Weaver, Jason Smythe, and Travis Smythe; and fifteen great-nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She lived her entire life in the Seymour, Missouri area and worked as a babysitter for many years. Janice had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1964 and was a member of the old Calvary Assembly of God Church in Seymour and after it burned she attended the Emmanuel Tabernacle on V Highway near Seymour. After she became disabled, she made her home at Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour.
Janice was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching television. She did needlepoint, embroidery, and quilting projects in her spare time and won a prize at Glenwood Healthcare for one of her quilts. She took part in the activities at the nursing home and was especially fond of playing bingo.
She was a loving sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the precious memories she created for her family and many friends.
Graveside memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Liberty Cemetery, north of Seymour, Missouri with Reverend R.J. Adrain officiating under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
