Janice Sanders' Obituary
anice Lee Sanders, daughter of Able and Bonna Jean (Wahl) Young, was born December 22, 1947, in Orland, California. She departed this life Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in Cox Medical Center, South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, one month, and fourteen days. On May 21, 1967 she was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Sanders and to this union five daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Trent Donaway; a brother, Jerald Young; a sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and Joseph Hartz. Janice is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home; five daughters, Carol Hall, and her husband, Dennis, of Lebanon, Missouri, Cindy Lansdown, and her husband, Jeff, of Hartville, Missouri, Shelly Sanders, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Cheryll Hart, and her husband, Allan, of Swedeborg, Missouri, Sharon Donaway, and her husband, Josh, of Norwood, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Moore, and her husband, Kenneth, of Caldwell, Idaho; A Brother, John Young, of Mansfield, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Melva Young, of Pleasant Hope, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in California and moved with her family to Wright County, Missouri and graduated from Norwood High School in the Class of 1966. She then met and married Jerry and they made their home in Wright County, where they lovingly raised their family. Janice had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Victory Hill Church, she was very devoted to her Lord, the church and getting her family involved. She centered her life on her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and visiting with friends. She had many hobbies such as crocheting, knitting, quilting, cross-stitching, making beautiful jewelry, and working in her garden. She also enjoyed woodworking and going horseback riding. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Hartville. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, north of Norwood. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri. Memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
