Jay D. Allison (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jay Dee Allison, son of Jessie and Anita McNutt Allison, was born July 8, 1951, in Santa Rita, New Mexico. He passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at his home in Lebanon, Missouri at the age of sixty-nine years, eleven months, and twenty-nine days.
On February 24, 1990, Jay married the love of his life, Laura Waterman. The two shared over thirty years together and with this union came two beautiful daughters, Jaime and Jennifer.
His mother preceded him in death.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Laura Allison, of the home; two daughters, Jaime Dahm, and husband, Jason, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Jennifer Janko; his father, Jessie Allison, and wife, Ann; his grandchildren, Raegan Dahm, Madison Dahm, Elijah Janko, and Joshua Janko; his siblings; David Allison, John Kishbaugh, and wife, Ana, and his special sister, Beth Kishbaugh.
He was born and raised in the New Mexico area. He had a colorful childhood, and loved to tell his grandchildren stories that made everyone laugh while not being shining examples of behavior. Jay faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Living most of his life in New Mexico, he would later move to Michigan, and finally settle in Lebanon, Missouri.
Jay was an avid outdoorsman and could often be found in his garden tending vegetables or with a rod and reel in his hand. He especially enjoyed growing peppers, and knew that hotter meant better. He loved to can his peppers, and even made jalapeno jelly.
Jay had a servant’s heart, and would do whatever was necessary to lend a helping hand to anyone who might need it. Most important to Jay was his family. His daughters and grandchildren knew that there was no problem Jay could not fix. He leaves behind a legacy of care, love, and laughter. Jay will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial to Claws and Paws has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
