Jay Castleman (Camdenton)'s Obituary
John William Castleman, Jr. son of John William, Sr., and Ivy Lucille Compton Castleman, was born, July 16, 1957 in Granite City, Illinois. He departed this life, Tuesday, April 3, 2018, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of sixty years, eight months and eighteen days.
He was preceded in death by parents; his brother, Sam Mathews and his niece Mandy Strohkirch.
He is survived by his sons, Johnny W. Castleman of Delavan, Illinois and Chet Wilderman of Smithboro, Illinois; three grandchildren, loved spending time with Chance Castleman, Aaron Wilderman and Austin Wilderman his siblings; Mary Castleman of Camdenton, Missouri, Denise Little of Vandalia, Illinois, Sandra Mathews of Camdenton, Missouri and Pat Connell and husband, Wayne of Augusta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Jay was raised in Illinois where he went to school and then worked as a farmer, before moving to Missouri.
In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed listening to music, but the time he treasured most was when he was with his family and friends.
He was a loving dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He was always making people laugh. We will treasure the good times and the stories that Jay shared with us and we will celebrate his life and his accomplishments that he created for his family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the family, and left at the funeral home.
