Jayma Loreda Scott (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jayma Loreda Scott, daughter of John G. and Maude E. Crain Prock, was born March 7, 1923, near Grovespring, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, April 25, 2014, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, one month, and eighteen days.
On October 15, 1944, she was united in marriage to Norvin E. Scott, and to this union five daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norvin, on April 8, 1986; a daughter, Linda M. Coffey; two brothers, R. W. “Bob” and Ernest Prock; and a sister, Freida Clark.
Jayma is survived by four daughters, Hazel L. Linneberger, and her husband, Edward, of Lebanon, Missouri, Phyllis Cook, and her husband, Delbert, of Norman, Oklahoma, Helen E. Greer, and her husband, Joey, of Riverdale, Utah, and Norma Springer, and her husband, Dennis, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Larry Scott, and his wife, Linda, of Thomasville, North Carolina; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Grovespring community, and graduated from Grovespring High School. After she and Norvin were married, they made their home in the Lebanon and Grovespring area and lovingly raised their family. Jayma was always a devoted homemaker to her husband and children, and also worked as a nurses’ aide at Wallace Hospital, which later became Breech Medical Center for several years.
Jayma was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and had attended both Shaddy Chapel Church of Christ and South Five Church of Christ through the years.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening quilting, going to auctions, and traveling, having made several trips across the United States and Canada. She also was a wonderful cook and was especially known for her delicious pies. Her family was always her first priority and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also dearly loved her church family.
Jayma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
Memorial donations to the Fair Haven Children's Home may be made through the funeral home.
