Jean Ann (Royston) Luedde (Seymour)'s Obituary
Jean was born February 20, 1950 to Earl F. and H. Iona (Burdette) Royston in Springfield, MO. She departed this life in Fort Lauderdale, FL on February 5, 2020 with longtime friend Diane by her side. Jean grew up in the Battlefield and Republic area before moving with family to Illinois and graduated from Kewanee High School in Kewanee, IL. She then attended Stephen's College in Columbia, MO where she earned her degree.
Jean spent several years in the St. Louis, MO area before making her home in southern Florida. She was very successful and passionate in regards to her career in the Real Estate and retail industries. She had just retired in the last few years.
Jean was an avid traveler and was ALWAYS up for any adventure! Jean loved to travel and did so until her physical health started slowing her down. She enjoyed her Missouri family coming to visit in Florida and also enjoyed coming to see them here (unless it was cold and snowing or icy!! She didn't miss our weather)
Jean never had children and thought of her niece and nephew as hers. She adored her brother, he was her hero and best friend.
Jean was a free spirited and adventurous woman who lived her life to the absolute fullest, including racing cars....yes, really!! She loved good food and even better wines. She made some extraordinary friends throughout her years in Florida.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don Royston, or Buddy as she called him and the love of her life Jim Grobe. She was also preceded by several very close friends.
Jean is survived by niece Teri (Royston) Redd and husband Mike of Hermitage, MO. Nephew Mike Royston...unknown address.
5 Great-niece and nephews. And 2 Great Great niece and nephews.
Several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Former sister n law and long time friend, Hope Jenkins and her family.
Long time and special friend, Diane Thoman as well as many other friends that were like family to her.
A visitation will be held at 1 pm Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Seymour, MO. A private burial with her family will be held at Fordland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to National Veterans Cemetery, Fordland Cemetery or any organization of your choice.
