Jean Eberhart's Obituary
Jean Ann Eberhart, daughter of Sylvester G. and Ruth Alice Prain Schafer, was born August 27, 1934, in Wausau, Wisconsin. She departed this life Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in her home in Linn Creek, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, seven months, and eleven days. On August 14, 1953, Jean was united in marriage to Tommie L. Eberhart, and together they shared forty-nine years until Tommie’s passing on June 17, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Jean is survived by her three daughters, Tonia Samuel of Linn Creek, Missouri, Dorthy Eberhart and husband Kurt Shryack of Columbia, Missouri, and Tamara Bartley of Linn Creek, Missouri; two sons Kenneth Eberhart and wife Marie of Linn Creek, Missouri, Tommie Eberhart Jr. and wife Paula of Garland, Texas; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Adell Dickelman of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Dawn Windsor of Oregon; four brothers, Kenneth Schafer of New Mexico, James Schafer of Florida, and Robert and Richard Schafer, both of Linn Creek, Missouri; a sister-in-law Bettye Jo Eberhart Wilson of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Jean spent her childhood in Wausau, Wisconsin, and moved to Wichita, Kansas in the early 1950’s. While living in Wichita, she met Tommie and together they moved to Seattle, Washington, where they were married in August of 1953. They spent time living in various locations before moving to Linn Creek in 1973. Jean was of the Lutheran faith. She was a caring woman who loved her family dearly and took great pride in being the best mother and grandmother she could be to her children and grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, working jig-saw puzzles, crocheting and doing many other hand crafts. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her many accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday April 10, 2009 at the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton. Burial in the Zion Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Friday until time of service under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home Camdenton, Missouri. Return to top
