Jean Hanson's Obituary
Jean Sage Hanson, daughter of Truman Lawrence and Nona Bellis Sage, was born October 21, 1918 in Hamilton, Pennsylvania. She departed this life Monday, October 9, 2006 in West Village Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, Missouri at the age of eighty-seven years, eleven months and eighteen days. In October of 1951, she was united in marriage to James Martin Hanson, and to this union three sons were born. He preceded her in death in November of 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Keith Martin Hanson. Jean is survived by two sons, Chris Hanson and his wife, Pam, of Ankeny, Iowa and Brian Hanson and his wife, Denise, of Columbia, Missouri; a sister, Betty of Syracuse, New York; six grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew. She was raised in Morris Run, Pennsylvania and later lived in Syracuse, New York where she graduated from North High School. After high school, she attended secretarial school in Syracuse. Aside from being a dedicated wife and mother, she worked as a Secretary for the Federal Government. She and her husband retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1973. Jean was raised in the Presbyterian faith and later became a member of Community Christian Church of Camdenton. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family. In her early years she was very skilled in bowling. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a loving and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Laughlin Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association may be made through the funeral home.
