Jeanette Silfies' Obituary
Jeanette Lynn Silfies, daughter of Earl and Florence Bohannon Massengale, was born February 1, 1963, in Harriman, Tennessee. She departed this life Friday, September 28, 2007, in the Kabul Nursing Home, in Cabool, Missouri, at the age of forty-four years, seven months, and twenty-seven days. Her father, and an infant son, Justin, preceded her in death. Jeanette is survived by a daughter, Sommer Lynn Silfies, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; her mother, Florence Ruble, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Randall Massengale, and his wife, Marcella, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; a sister, Tammy Massengale, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Tennessee, raised in Missouri, and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She made her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri for thirteen years before moving to Lebanon. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and a loving mother, she had worked in air photography for a few years, and then was employed by Oxford Health Care for a couple of years. For the last two years, she had been living in Cabool. Jeanette had attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Summersville, Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors, especially near the water, so she could work on developing her tan. She loved caring for her daughter and being with her friends and family. Throughout the years, she bore her illness with great dignity and courage. Jeanette was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007, in the Roper Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4 - 5:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
