Jeanitta Jo Wood (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jeanitta Jo Wood was born February 9, 1955 in Lebanon, Missouri to Loren Mackie and Mary Jo Wright. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in her home in Lebanon, Missouri. She was seventy-one years of age.
Jeanitta grew up in Lebanon and the Laclede County area. And attended school in Wright County where she graduated high school.
Jeanitta loved Jesus and when she was eight years old, professed her faith in Him. She was baptized and became a member at Second Baptist Church in Lebanon. When she moved to California, she joined the First Baptist Church in El Toro.
On February 18, 2000, she was united in marriage to Edwin (Ed) Wood.
Jeanitta is survived by her husband, Ed Wood of the home; four children, Chris Robertson and his wife Jennifer of Grovespring, Missouri, Mindy Bel, of Grovespring, Missouri, Shae Smittle of Overland Park, Kansas and Devin Smittle and his wife Xiaofei of St. Louis, Missouri; her mother, Mary Jo Wright and Jim Wright of Sun City, California; her father, Loren Mackie of Mountain Grove, Missouri; her sisters, Carol Sue Rose of Belle, Missouri and Rhonda Hall of Sun City, California; two brothers, Rod Mackie of Menifee, California and Mike Mackie of Mountain Grove, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kyndra, Jaidyn, Haylon, Mia, Daniel and Octavian; and one great-granddaughter, Charleigh, and one more on the way; her siblings, Jeff Wright, Chad Wright, Lori Sitton and Scott Wright; and other relatives and friends.
Jeanitta was a homemaker for many years before being employed at H. D. Lee in Lebanon. She worked there from 1991 – 2003 where she was an inspector.
She loved shopping and going to thrift stores. She also found pleasure in reading and cooking meals for her family as well as special occasions. She enjoyed music and had an appreciation for all types of music. She also liked driving around on country roads, looking at the beauty of the farms, homes, livestock and wildlife.
Jeanitta also had a love for dogs and had several dogs throughout her life. They were very special and important to her.
We remember and honor the life of a devoted wife, beloved mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, whose love, faith, and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Funeral services for Jeanitta Wood will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 2 PM at Holman Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, MO. Visitation will be held the hour prior. Burial will take place at Shaddy Cemetery.
