Jeffry Chambers' Obituary
Jeffry Mark ‘Jeff’ Chambers, age 48 of Bolivar, MO passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 He was born on September 17, 1960 in Butler, MO the son of Eugene A. Chambers and Jeanne E. (Eichler) Chambers. He was a graduate of Butler High School. Jeff began working at his hometown Sonic in Butler, MO while in high school. The first drive-in Jeff ran was a Sonic Restaurants Inc. store in Sugar Creek, MO. In 1986 Jeff became the Managing Partner of the first Excel Sonic Drive-In in Aurora, MO. Jeff then moved to Bolivar, MO in 1988 where he was the Managing Partner of the Bolivar Sonic. Jeff became a Co-Director of Operations and shareholder for the Excel Sonic Group in 1993. In 2001, Jeff became the Chief Operating Officer for Excel Sonic Group which was his position until his death. Jeff received numerous award and recognition’s throughout his Sonic career. The most notable award was the National Sonic Operational Excellence Award in 1999. Jeff served two terms on the Sonic Franchise Advisor Council Board. The Sonic world has lost one of the best in Jeff. Jeff enjoyed golf and was a member at the Silo Ridge Golf Club in Bolivar. He also enjoyed being on his farm and working on his immaculate lawn. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Chambers and his father Eugene Chambers. Surviving is his wife of 27 years,Lesia Chambers of the home in Bolivar, One daughter, Jessica Skinner and husband Zachary of Kansas City, MO; His mother, Jeanne E. Chambers of Butler, MO; one brother Larry Chambers of Gladstone, MO; and one sister, Vicki Porter of Butler, MO. Also nieces and nephew, Lori Chambers, Kyle Arrington, Jennifer Kash and Jonathan Porter. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Bolivar with Rev. Jerry Book officiating. Musical soloist will be Brad Wommack with Rose Roweton as the Pianist. Musical selections will be “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden”. Casketbearers will be John Horn, Brent Johnson, Jack Follis, John Conner, Matt Bonnewitz and Jack Baker. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Foster, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
