Jennifer Alexander (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Jennifer Carol Alexander, daughter of Wade Eugene and Lois Carol Flageolle Yarber, was born September 19, 1972, in Springfield, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, January 29, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, in her home, near Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of forty years, four months, and ten days.
On April 3, 1993, she was united in marriage to Douglass Gerald “Alex” Alexander, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ralph Flageolle; her paternal grandmother, Jane Yarber; an uncle, Bob Dibben; two cousins, Alan Yarber, and Michael Flageolle; and her father-in-law, Charles Alexander.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of nineteen years, Alex, of the home; a daughter, Madison Lyn Alexander, of the home; a son, Blake Edward Alexander, of the home; her mother, Lois Carol Flageolle, of Norwood, Missouri; her father, Wade Eugene Yarber, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two brothers, Wayco Eugene Yarber, and his wife, Holly, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Joseph Wade Yarber, and his wife, Susan, of Pineville, North Carolina; a sister, Carrie Anne Guilliams, and her husband, Jamie, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; her maternal grandmother, Doris Flageolle, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; her paternal grandfather, Max Yarber, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; her mother-in-law, Joyce Alexander, of Caddo, Oklahoma; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She then attended Drury University, Southwest Missouri State University, and Missouri University and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She then taught at the Mountain Grove Christian Academy for a few years. The family made their home in various locations for the next several years while Alex was serving in the military. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and loving mother, Jennifer ran a day care center in her home at one time, and also worked at a pre-school in Heinzville, Missouri. The family eventually settled in Richland, Missouri, and Jennifer taught in the Waynesville School System for several years. In 2012, the family moved back to Mountain Grove and made their home.
Jennifer had attended Rock Chapel Church in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and was a member of the Missouri Teachers Association.
In her spare time she enjoyed working in her flower garden, looking for antiques, and going to the lake. She also liked cleaning and keeping things tidy, and doing activities with her husband and children. She was a devoted military wife and greatly enjoyed working with children. Her two children were the greatest joy in her life and she loved them dearly.
Jennifer was a loving wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and niece, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
