Jeromy Scott Rudolph (Seymour)'s Obituary
Jeromy Scott ‘Rudy’ Rudolph, age 36, of Fordland, Missouri, departed this earthly life Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following years of fearlessly battling congestive heart failure. Even on his worst of days and facing his own mortality, he did not complain; he was brave to the end.
He was born August 27, 1983, in Springfield, to Kevin Lynn and Betty Ann (Hensley) Rudolph. As a kid, Jeromy loved sports and played football for the Mighty Mites. He attended Seymour schools, graduating in 2002, from Seymour High School when his dad proudly handed him his diploma. Jeromy attended Drury University in Springfield for some time in pursuit of a degree in criminal law. He had a passion for playing poker and had ambitions of becoming a professional poker player.
Jeromy’s gift of gab and good humor started at a noticeably young age. He never met a stranger – no matter their age. He had a knack for making people feel at ease and could make anybody laugh. Even when being ‘scolded’ at work, he seized the moment to lighten the situation. The party started when ‘Rudy’ got there and as a cut-up, he was always the life of the party.
Jeromy was known to be an even-keeled, light-hearted, and fun-loving guy. He never took life too seriously, but stood firm in his beliefs, and was always true to himself. He was loyal to a fault and to the end, always sticking up for a friend in need or taking the heat to keep one out of trouble.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Kevin, paternal grandfather, Gerald Rudolph, and maternal grandparents, Ross and Lois Hensley.
Surviving Jeromy is his mother, Betty Rudolph, of Fordland; his sister, Christina and Scott Odell, of Rogersville, Missouri; paternal grandmother, Una Rudolph; three nephews who called him Uncle Rudy, Taylor Gene Motyl, Trevor Lynn Motyl and Keegan Odell; aunts and uncles, Gena and Mike Cooper, Kelly and Melvin Kellum, Lessli and Paul Pruett, Susan Rae, and Timmy Hensley; seven cousins; many, many friends, and his dog, Sarah.
On this day, Saturday, August 1, 2020,
at the peaceful evening hour of 6 PM,
in Zion Lutheran Cemetery
in rural Diggins, Webster County, Missouri,
family and friends have come together
to honor and remember Jeromy Scott Rudolph
- a son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and friend.
A casual and laid-back gathering
playing his favorite music,
with comforting words being offered by
friend and classmate, Brother Jamey Lansdown,
and the sharing of fond memories is a
very fitting farewell for Jeromy until we see him again.
We can be sure when Jeromy arrived at the
gates of Heaven, he shouted,
“Rudy’s here. Let the party begin!”
