Jerrell Wilson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Jerrell Dee Wilson, son of Vester Carl and Bonnie (Salsman) Wilson was born on June 15, 1940, in Pleasant Hope, Missouri and passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at his residence in Pleasant Hope surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Vester and Bonnie Wilson, three brothers; Vester (Eilene) Wilson, Lloyd (Gaynell) Wilson, and his twin brother Derrell Wilson.
Jerrell is survived and missed by four daughters, Sheila (John Paul) Van Diggelen of Marshfield, Missouri, Marlisa (Steve Schroeder) of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, Rhonda Wilson (Todd) of Springfield, Missouri and Tina Wilson (Lester Bivens) of Pleasant Hope, Missouri; six grandchildren, Nathan (Kaylee) Van Diggelen, Jake (Anna) Van Diggelen, Tyler (Elizabeth) Wilson, Alison Van Diggelen (Michael), Ellie Schroeder (Rye), Carly Schroeder; great grandson Lincoln Wilson; best friend Sheryll Johnson; extended family, Brittany, Dylan and Lily Blair, and Beverly Smith, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Jerrell was raised in Pleasant Hope, Missouri and graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961, and was stationed in Georgia, Virginia and Germany. After serving active duty, Jerrell continued with reserve duty for three years.
Jerrell was always active in farming, milking dairy cows until 1988 and continued with beef cattle until his death. He drove his Pleasant Hope School Bus route for over 20 years. He also ran the road grader, worked as a substitute mail carrier for seven years, and was the last original volunteer fire fighter for Pleasant Hope.
He loved farming and attending his daughters and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Jerrell’s family and friends were always at the center of his life. To the coffee shop gang- Thanks for all the memories!
Jerrell was a loving son, brother, dad, grandpa, father in-law, significant other, and a loyal friend. We honor and celebrate his life and know that his loved ones and friends will always cherish the wonderful memories they made together during his lifetime.
A visitation for Jerrell will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
