Jerry Wayne Berry (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jerry Wayne Berry, son of James and Ruby Nunn Berry, was born November 21, 1948, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, August 3, 2018, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, eight months, and twelve days.
On July 2, 2001, he was united in marriage to Sharon K. Pemberton, and they shared the last twenty-seven years.
His parents preceded him in death.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; two daughters, Monica Wright, of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Teresa Hendrix, of Eldon, Missouri; three sons, Randy Berry, and his wife, Lucy, Kevan Berry, and his wife, Adele, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Tracy Wright, of Ozark, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Christine, & her husband, Michael, Kevan, & his wife, Kelsay, Jonathan, Logan, Katie, Ava, Aiden, and Elianah; five great-grandchildren, Mady, Randy, Adelena, Gabe, and Sophia; two brothers, Larnce Berry, and his wife, Joann of Lebanon, Missouri, Hobart Berry of Edwards, Missouri; four sisters, Beatrice Neeley, Pat Shumate, Lena Smith, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Delores Walker, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and then lived all of his adult years in Laclede County. He worked as a cutter for the H. D. Lee Company for thirty-five years, and also worked in masonry for a number of years. After retiring he enjoyed helping with guided bird hunts and was involved in skeet and trap shooting competitions.
Jerry professed his faith in Christ when he was eight years old.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and also mushroom hunting. He liked spending time at the lake house and boating on the lake. He was a gifted story teller and loved to laugh. He liked reading and particularly mystery and super natural novels. Most of all he loved his dog, “Sweetie”. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Memorial contributions to Flatwood Cemetery, may be left at the funeral home.
