Jerry D Burris (Hartville)'s Obituary
Jerry Dean Burris, son of Calvin and Edna Hightower Burris, was born January 21, 1939 near Hartville, Missouri. He departed this earthly life Monday, October 2, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, at the age of seventy-eight years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Ellen Burris.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Joleen, of the home; his two children, Mike Burris and his wife Leslie, of Hartville and Cathy Easton and her husband Michael, of Springfield; five grandchildren, Andrew Burris, Candace Carlson and her husband Knute, Amanda Wilbur and her husband Andrew, Cory Carlson, and Abbey Carlson; six great-grandchildren, Ellen, McKenzie, William, Braden, Dayton, and Preston; three brothers, Mitchell Burris and his wife Rene, of Lebanon, Ansel Burris, of Falcon, and Paul Burris and his wife Glenda, of Grovespring; two sisters, Priscilla Carriger and Francis Baillie, of Springfield; four step-sons, David Hake and his wife Eileen, of Jones, OK, Ron Hake and his wife Debbie, of Ozark, Patrick Hake and his wife Sherrie, of Ozark, and Daniel Lyons and his wife Shelly, of Republic; seven step-grandchildren, Stefanie Wade and her husband Josh, Mandi Crites and her husband Ryan, Josh Hake, Kylie Hake, Miranda Hake, Grant Lyons, and Kayla Lyons; three step-great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hoyt, and Holden; many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Jerry was born and raised near the Wright County area. In 1959, he moved to Kansas City to work for Proctor and Gamble. When he came back to the Hartville area in 1970, Jerry started a dairy farm and has farmed ever since. Jerry professed his faith in Christ before he passed on .
Jerry was involved with the Hartville Saddle Club while it was an organization, he also loved to quail hunt and loved to help everybody in need. Jerry was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and cherished friend. We celebrate his life and will always remember the many happy memories he created throughout his life.
