Jerry H. Dominque Sr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jerry Herman Dominque, Sr. was born December 13, 1937, in Oxford, Massachusetts. He departed this life Sunday, March 15, 2015, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, three months, and two days.
On February 23, 2006, he was united in marriage to Bernadette Anna Mercure, and they shared the last nine years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Mitchell; his father, Louis Anthony Dominque; his step-father, David Best, and two brothers, Robert Mitchell and William Dominque.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Bernadette, of the home; two daughters, Belinda Cameron, of Southwick, Massachusetts, and Norma Jean Dominque, of Spencer, Massachusetts; a son, Jerry Dominque, Jr., of Lebanon, Missouri; twenty-five grandchildren, including the two youngest, Alexander Dominque, and Chloe Newsome; twenty-five great-grandchildren; a brother, Lou Dominque, and his wife, Martha, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Charlotte Gubber, of Grovendale, Connecticut, Dotty Stieger, of Warren, Massachusetts, and Louise Pierce, and her husband, James, of West Brookfield, Massachusetts; a brother-in-law, Edwin R. Mercure, Jr., of Warren, Massachusetts; a sister-in-law, Donna Mitchell, of Grovespring, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends, including special friends, Ed Hoffman, Ronald Miles, and Selena Bennett.
He was born and raised in Massachusetts, and continued to make his home there for many years. He was a talented musician who played the guitar and also sang with the “Make Mine Country Band” for many years. Jerry had also driven a truck for almost twenty years. In 1998, he moved to Lebanon, Missouri, to enjoy his retirement years.
He enjoyed and lived for his music and also liked watching automobile racing. He was a fan of NASCAR and drag racing and liked going to the area speedways. He was a bit stubborn at times, and was always steadfast in his convictions. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his seventy-seven years.
