Jerry Lee McCarty (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Jerry McCarty age 91 passed away on January 24, 2024, at Parkview Health Care Facility. She was born August 12, 1932, in Fair Play, Missouri. She on one of eleven children born to Frank and Edith Harville. Jerry graduated from Fair Play High School in 1950. She married Ray D. McCarty and to that marriage; they had one son Morgan D. McCarty. After high school, Jerry worked 18 years for Westfall candy and tobacco company in Bolivar. She then went on to work nearly 25 years for Southwest Baptist University as the administrative assistant to the academic dean until her retirement in 1994. Her main hobbies were reading, working word puzzles, and watching Cardinal Baseball. She was saved at an early age and was a long-time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for nearly 60 years. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband: Ray and four brothers: Charles, Gerald, Jack, and Guy. Sisters: Jessie, Mildred, Frankie Bell, Jo, Bonnie, and Jean. Brothers-in-law: Blue Copeland, Theron Johnson, Sheldon Simmions, LeRoy Seiner, and Tommy Tindle. Sisters-in-law: Doris Harville and Sammie Harville. She is survived by her son: Morgan and daughter-in-law: Julie along with her granddaughter: Addie Elizabeth. One sister-in- law: Barbara Harville of Springfield, Missouri as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00 7:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Butler Funeral Home. The burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
