Jerry Lynn Thurman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jerry Lynn Thurman was born January 21, 1943 in Dallas County, Missouri, to June and Edith Poteet Thurman. He passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026 in his Lebanon, Missouri home, surrounded by his family. He was eighty-three years, four months and twelve days of age.
Jerry was raised in Dallas County and graduated from Conway High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy where he faithfully served from June 23, 1961 to June 18, 1965.
On July 24, 1964, Jerry married the love of his life, Mary Price. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in devotion, family and shared memories. They celebrated over fifty-one years of marriage before she passed away on February 13, 2015.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Bill Barber.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Lori Barber of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Chandity White and her husband Kelly of Marshfield, Missouri, Haley Bradshaw and her husband Jeremy of Lebanon, Missouri and Morgan Davidson and her husband Justin of Marshfield, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Colt White, Waylan White, Wyatt White, Lily Bradshaw and Parker Davidson; his brother, Rod Thurman and his wife Nancy; and other relatives and friends.
Jerry made his career at Consumer’s Market where he was employed for thirty-five years in many different departments. He enjoyed his career and meeting so many people throughout his duties at the grocery store. He was a board member on the Teamster’s Union and also served on the Laclede County Water District Board.
He enjoyed music, driving and gardening. Most of all, he treasured his family. He found joy in spending time with his family and loved watching his great-grandchildren grow and develop their personalities.
He will be greatly missed and his memories will stay in the hearts of those he loved.
A Graveside service will be held Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Cemetery in Lebanon. Visitation will be Thursday, June 11 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
