Jess Allen (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Jess Leonard Allen was born March 31, 1929 and passed away December 28, 2016 at almost 88 years of age. He was the son of Robert and Nettie (Walker) Allen.
Jess was the 6th of 10 children. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Nels Allen, Emmett Allen, Bobby Allen and Lester Allen; four sisters, Verba Holdt, Mary Allen, Alta Freeman and Mildred Swain.
Jess is survived by his wife Alice; one daughter, Bernida Holmes of Idaho; and one son, Laverne Allen of Greenfield, Mo; one brother, Gene (Vicky) Allen of Mansfield, Mo.
He was a lifelong resident of the Wright County area and worked in the timber and milked cows all his life.
Jess loved going to local coffee shops and visiting friends.
He will be greatly missed. Everyone who knew him had something good to say about him. He was one of the last old time cowboys.
