Jessie Garcia's Obituary
Jessie Aranda Garcia, daughter of Refugie and Maria J. Cardova Aranda was born September 2, 1927 in Phoenix, Arizona. She departed this life Monday, October 25, 2010 in her home near Seymour, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years, one month and twenty days.
On September 13, 1944 she was united in marriage to Joe Martinez Garcia and to this union four daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Barbara Ann Garcia; four sisters; and two brothers.
Jessie is survived by her husband, Joe of Redlands, California; three daughters, Mary Flerlage and her companion, Gene Molina, and Sandy Limon, all of Redlands, California, and Stella Simmons and her companion, Clint Bowlby, of Seymour, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Barbara, Shannon, Robert, Joseph, Anthony, John, Edward, and Marsha; sixteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray, Steve, and Penny Aranda, all of Redlands, California; a number of nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was born in Arizona and grew up in Redlands, California where she graduated high school. After she and Joe were married they continued to live in Redlands and lovingly raised their daughters. Jessie was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed going to church. When her health began to fail, she moved to Seymour to live with her daughter Stella.
In her spare time she enjoyed watching television, cooking, playing bingo when she was a patient at Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will forever cherish the wonderful memories she created for all those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in the home of her daughter in Seymour. Arrangements are under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
