Jessie Hunter's Obituary
Jessie Louise Hunter, daughter of Oscar E. and Gertrude (Turner) Liles, was born August 25, 1922, in Mansfield, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, July 26, 2008, in St. John’s Regional Medical Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, eleven months and one day. She was united in marriage to Wallace Trimble, who preceded her in death while serving his country in World War II. She later married Donald F. Hunter and to this union one son was born. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Pauline Krider, Maxine Chorn, Mildred Haswell; two brothers, Charles and Herman Liles. Jessie is survived by a son, Donald G. Hunter, of Anchorage, Alaska; a grandson, Seth F. Hunter, of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother-in-law, Harold Haswell, of San Antonio, Texas; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Especially, she loved watching over her great-niece and great-nephew, Breanne and Aaron Freeman. She was born and raised in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School in the Class of 1940, and then attended Southwest Missouri State University. She worked for many years for Sugar Creek Creamery in Mansfield, which was later was purchased by Kraft Foods in Springfield. She continued working there until her retirement in 1987. Jessie had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Mansfield Eastern Star. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to music, reading and loved watching “As the World Turns”. Jessie was a kind and caring person with a big heart. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday July 30, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield. Burial will be at the Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday evening from 6-7:00 pm at the funeral home and are under the direction of Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Mansfiled, Missouri. Return to top
