Jessie V. Kelsay (Hartville)'s Obituary
Jessie Vera Kelsay, daughter of Elmer Ernest and Gertrude Izetta Davidson Lemons, was born August 17, 1920 in Wright County, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Hartville Care Center, at the age of ninety-three years, five months, and eight days.
On September 28, 1937, Jessie was united in marriage to John Wayne Kelsay and to this union two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Kelsay, on March 7, 1992; a son, Lynford Kelsay; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Mae Todd; and four brothers, Darrell, Orin, Otis, and Ancil Lemons.
Jessie is survived by her son, Dallas Kelsey and wife Beuanna of Owasso, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Darren Kelsey and wife Cheriece of Jenks, Oklahoma, Joanna Moore and husband Bryan of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Daniel and Garrett Kelsay; a number of great-grandchildren; a sister Retha Sanders of Hartville, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Jessie was a lifelong resident of Wright County and attended the #3 Grade School. She spent her time working with her husband John on their farm for many years and also at the H.D. Lee Plant in Hartville.
Jessie had made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of the Hartville Assembly of God.
In her spare time, Jessie enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Jessie was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her long life and accomplishments and will cherish the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
