Jewell D. Chafin (Seymour)'s Obituary
Jewell Dean Chafin, 82, of Selma, Indiana passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 in Seymour, Missouri.
Jewell was born in Florence, Alabama, on May 7, 1933, to the late Luevenia Jones Elliott and Jeffrey Evans.
Jewell worked for Anchor Hocking Glass for many years. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Muncie, Indiana. Jewell loved to play Bingo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry Chafin; son, Gary Jones.
Jewell is survived by her granddaughter, Audrey DeMate of Springfield, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Emily White, Seamus DeMate, both of Springfield, Missouri; sisters, Carolyn Hood and her husband, Danny of Brilliant, Alabama; Louise Baldy of Haleyville, AL. Niece, Kristina Kirkpatrick and her husband, David of Batesville, Arkansas; nephew, Donald Jackson of Double Springs, Alabama; great-nieces, Kirsten Scheel and Anna Kirkpatrick.
Visitation was held Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Parson Mortuary. Services were held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1 P.M. at the mortuary with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. A private burial for immediate family followed at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.
