Jewell A Greene (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Jewell Agnes Green, daughter of the late E.D. and Anna (Bilyue) Shelton, was born in Ozark, Missouri on October 31, 1920 and departed this life on Sunday morning, December 10, 2017 in her daughter’s home in Bolivar, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 97 years, 1 month and 10 days of age.
Jewell served her Master, the Lord Jesus Christ her entire life. Jewell had eyes and a heart which saw and loved people as they were and not as viewed by the world. Jewell was a cornerstone to a family whom she loved and who loved her. She readily gave love easily and with grace. Jewell served her Master by playing piano in churches for a span of 80 years. In addition to the Sunday morning services, she accompanied The Shady Grove Quartet, who sang for over 1,000 funerals in the Christian County area. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet and knit. She was always trying new recipes and fed everyone who came to visit. She was loved by friends and family, and will be greatly missed.
Jewell was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Workman, her husband Stanley Greene; 1 son, Joe Greene; 4 brothers, Ward Shelton, Wayne Sheldon, Wade Sheldon, and Walter Sheldon; 1 sister, Edna Carpenter; and 1 grandson, Joel Greene. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Jerry) Kirksey of Bolivar, MO, Jerry (Debbie) Workman of Joliet, IL, Wanda (Jack) Merritt of Republic, MO, and Janice Sue (Dennis) Fields of Ozark, MO; 13 grandchildren, Jay (Kathryn) Kirksey, Daren (Stormie) Kirksey, David Kirksey, Andy (Toshia) Workman, Cindy Dowdy, Jeff Workman, Julie Knox, Jill Massey, Suzanne (Rodney) Beard, Scott Lawson, Brad Lawson, Jolene (Tom) Huff and Christopher Greene; 27 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Sparta Cemetery, in Sparta, Missouri.
