Jhynelda Goss (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Jhynelda Mae Bredemeyer Hahn-Goss, daughter of Erwin and Freddie Nichols Bredemeyer (granddaughter of Lottie Blankenship), was born November 27, 1942 in Nolan County, Texas and departed this life March 10, 2013 in Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri at the age of seventy years, three months and thirteen days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nicky Hahn, two brothers, Ed and Bill, a step-son, Gary Goss and a step-great-granddaughter, Alexis Nicole.
Jhynelda is survived by her husband Bob of the home; two sons, Charles Hahn and his wife Pat of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Richard Hahn of Odessa, Texas; seven grandchildren, Joey, Jamie, Julie, Nicky Marie, William, Emily and Rebecca; two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Ryan; four step-sons, Greg Goss and his wife Kay, Dennis Goss and his wife Jane, Wesley Goss and David Goss; several step-grandchildren, Tish , Mandy and her husband Chris, Preston, Paige and Adam; several step-great-granddaughters as well as other relatives and many friends.
In 1953, Jhyneldas’ family moved to Odessa, Texas where she helped raise her brothers, Ed and Bill, as well as helping her mother run a café. She met Nicky Hahn at the café and married him after her graduation from high school in 1961. Jhynelda and Nicky had two sons, Charles and Richard.
Jhynelda continued her education and graduated from the University of Texas at the Permian Basin with a Bachelors degree in science. She taught in the Ector County Independent School District for 24 years before retiring.
After Nicky died of cancer in 1998, she met and married Bob Goss and they made their home in Bob’s hometown of Mansfield, Missouri.
Jhynelda had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Seymour, Missouri.
She and Bob were lifetime members of the American Legion and Jhynelda was a lifetime member of the Boy Scouts of America. They always helped with the annual June singing at Cedar Gap for many years. Jhynelda enjoyed square dancing to Bob’s music and loved to travel. She traveled to many places including, the Holy Land, Alaska, through the Panama Canal, Canada and the Colorado Rockies.
Jhynelda was a very caring person who despite her own illnesses, was always more concerned about others who were more sick than herself.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always remember the many wonderful memories.
