Jimmie Dean Capps (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jimmie Dean Capps, daughter of Gilbert and Eula Kissinger Brown, was born May 19, 1935, near Stoutland, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, June 9, 2017, in her home in Strafford, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, and twenty days.
On October 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Jonce Robert “J.R.” Capps, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and five sisters, Carmel Scantlin, Helen Maxine Brown, Glenna McDaniel, Mary Bell Freeman, and Delores Thomas.
Jimmie is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, J.R., of the home; a daughter, Rhonda Sells, and her husband, Tom, of Strafford, Missouri; a son, Robert Capps, and his wife, Lynn, of Strafford, Missouri; four grandchildren, Casey Goslee, Samantha Stacey, Ryan Capps, and Terri Frerking, and her husband, Jason; five great-grandchildren, Kayley, Nataley, and Bobby Capps, Sophia and Dylan Frerking; three sisters, Sharon Mangan, of Springfield, Missouri, Bonnie Williams and Carolyn Fletcher, both of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Stoutland community and graduated from Stoutland High School. After she and J.R. were married, they made their home in the Kansas City area, and Jimmie earned her cosmetology license. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Jimmie worked at various beauty salons through the years. In 1965, the family moved to Springfield, Missouri, and eventually made their home in Strafford, Missouri.
Jimmie was raised in the High Point Baptist Church near Stoutland, and had attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Springfield.
In her spare time she enjoyed arranging flowers and painting pictures. She liked things done her way and was a very organized person. Her family was very dear to her and she stayed in contact with her sisters every day. She especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jimmie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
