Jimmie D. Myers (Seymour)'s Obituary
Jimmie Dwayne Myers, devoted husband of Teri Lynn Myers, tragically lost his life the afternoon of Thursday, May 8, 2014, in a single motor vehicle accident on Hwy 60 in Seymour, Missouri. Jimmie was fifty-nine years, ten months and fifteen days young.
Jimmie was born the second of four children to Cleo Everett and Gloria Dean (Ferrell) Myers, on June 23, 1954, in Mansfield, Missouri. Except for a few years as a very young man, Jimmie was raised and spent all of his years in Seymour. He married Teri Lynn Daw on October 19, 1985, and to this union a son was added to the Myers family. In 1992, the Myers bought a farm in rural Seymour to raise beef cows and continue to build a life for their sons.
Jim was a life-long farmer who loved his cows and all that involved raising them. He also worked outside the home at his other love – truck driving – which he’d been doing from the age of 18. He was currently working at Gammon Equipment Company in Springfield, as a truck driver. Jim was also a very skilled wood craftsman and held various positions as a custom-cabinet maker. He was a proud member of the NRA, and an avid outdoorsman who truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took great pride in and care of his farm. Family gatherings were also very important – he loved his grandkids and spending time with family.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Cleo Myers; and brother-in-law, Jack Ince.
He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Teri, of the home; his sons, Doug Myers and wife Robyn, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Dakota Myers and wife Maria, of Seymour, Missouri; grandchildren, Beau, Breann and Devin, of Marshfield, and Caden, Braydon and Echo, of Seymour; his mother, Gloria D. Myers; sister, Sandy Ince of Fordland, Missouri; and brothers, Danny Wayne Myers, and Randy Myers and wife Kelli, all of Seymour; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family; and countless dear friends and neighbors.
Jim’s achievements are all around him; in his kids and grandkids. The many experiences he has given them and their learning to appreciate and love the outdoors as much as he did. He has created so many things with his hands and now they’re forever in our hearts and homes. We’ll treasure every memory he ever created for us.
In lieu of flowers, the Myers Families respectfully request memorials be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.
