Jimmy Joe Fowler (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jimmy Joe Fowler was born April 23, 1944 to James Henry Fowler and Dixie June Baker Fowler in Salina, Kansas. He passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 in Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty years, three months and thirteen days.
He was raised in Kansas and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education. On September 14, 1960, he was united in marriage to his lovely bride, Judith Ann. Together they shared many happy moments and were there to support each other during the difficult times of life. She passed away June 4, 2024.
Jimmy was saved when he was a young man.
In addition to his wife Judith, Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dixie; his son, Terry Joe Fowler; his brother-in-law, Bob Evans; and his granddaughter, Alicia LeAnn Fowler.
He is survived by his two sons, Larry “Lynn” Fowler and his wife Lynette of Kansas City, Missouri, Jamie Scott Fowler and his wife Cheri of Platte City, Missouri; his sister, Toni McFarland and her husband Dave of Lebanon, Missouri; his brother Steve Fowler and his wife Janice of Lebanon, Missouri; his sister, Jeri Evans of Lebanon, Missouri; grandchildren, including Jacob who lived with Jimmy; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
After Jimmy and Judith were married, he started his career with the Iron Workers Local 10 in Kansas City, Missouri. He then taught welding in the Vo-Tech before returning to the field to finish his successful career.
In 2011, he and Judith moved to Lebanon, Missouri to retire in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he also liked to mow yards and teasing people. He was a funny man and liked to make people laugh.
Jimmy was an interesting man, a hard worker, and a man who knew a lot about many things. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and his family was the center of his world. We know his family and friends will treasure the memories they made with him for many years to come.
