Jimmy Dale Pogue (Seymour)'s Obituary
Jimmy Dale Pogue, son of Earnest Luther and Marie Helen (Prock) Pogue, was born January 12, 1946, in Fordland, Missouri, and peacefully surrounded by family, departed this life on Monday, February 17, 2020, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, one month and five days.
One of four children, he was raised on the family farm in Fordland and attended Fordland schools. Along with his folks, Jimmy moved to Seymour in 1977, where he would live the rest of his life. He married Connie Sue Napier on August 4, 1993, gaining a son and later becoming a proud grandpa. Jimmy was a devoted ‘stay at home’ Dad and a farmer at heart, but through the years he’d worked at H.D. Lee, Come Play Toys, and as custodian for Seymour Schools, from which he retired after 14 years of faithful employment.
Everybody in town knew and liked Jimmy. He was an easy-going man of few words who was well thought of by everyone in the community. Jimmy’s favorite pastime was daily car rides with his loyal sidekick, Buzz, visiting with friends and neighbors. He liked to fish in other spare time.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Riggs, and his brother, Verl Lee Pogue.
Jimmy leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Connie; stepson, Jermey Napier, of Seymour; sister, Linda Totten and husband, Jerry, of Rogersville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Frances (Pogue) Davis and husband, Ralph, of Seymour, and Jody Ahlert and husband, Michael, of St. Charles, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and extended family; and countless dear friends, buddies and neighbors.
The greatest thing Jimmy experienced was receiving salvation January 2, 2020. Rest in peace, Jimmy, until we meet again. We love you.
