Jimmy D Slavens (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jimmy Don Slavens, son of Roy Freeman and Bertha Mae Rubles Slavens, was born May 13, 1963, in Columbia, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, September 22, 2013, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty years, four months, and nine days.
On December 20, 1991, he was united in marriage to Regina Lea Peterson, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Regina, of the home; a daughter, Charity Jones, of Eldridge, Missouri; three sons, Thomas Slavens, and his wife, Brandi, of Sleeper, Missouri, Jimmy Slavens, Jr., and Jonathan Slavens, both of the home; four grandchildren, Darian Carter, Ryliegh Carter, Ryder Jones, and Mykayla Hill; six brothers, Marvin Slavens, and his wife, Lynn, Charlie Slavens, and his wife, Frieda, Tommy Slavens, and his wife, Dianne, William Slavens, and his wife, Debbie, Arthur Slavens, and his wife, Dawn, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Ronald Slavens, and his wife, Vy, of Eldridge, Missouri; a sister, Helen West, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area. After he and Regina were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. Jimmy was employed by Tracker Marine in Lebanon for thirty-one years.
He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and fishing. He also liked caring for his yard, and was very particular that it be mowed properly. He was a very patient person who was always smiling and was willing to help anyone in need. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his children and grandchildren.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
