Jimmy Williams (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Jimmy Lee Williams, son of John Vernon Williams and Wanita Winfrey Rowlette, was born October 8, 1941, in Linn Creek, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, October 27, 2010, in the Missouri Veterans Home, Mexico, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years and nineteen days.
On December 30, 1999, in Branson, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Lynn Ebert. Together they shared the past ten years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by a brother Donald B. Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Williams of the home; his father, John Vernon Williams and wife Mary of Camdenton, Missouri; his mother, Wanita Rowlette of Linn Creek, Missouri; two sons, Wayne Williams of Dallas Texas and Wendall Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Emily Williams and Samuel Williams both of Plano, Texas; four step-daughters, Robin Reutner of Linn Creek, Missouri, Susan Keeney of Camdenton, Missouri, Rachelle Cunningham of Gravois Mills, Missouri, and Paula Meister of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Jimmy was raised in Camden County and graduated high school from School of the Ozarks. He attended Southwest Missouri State University before entering the United States Navy. He served his country proudly in the Navy for two years before being honorably discharged. He returned to Camdenton where he owned and operated a Skelly Station for several years. He then began a career as a representative for Chrysler which allowed him to travel and live in various places. He retired to Camdenton in 1999.
Jimmy made a profession of faith and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Camdenton. Church was a very important part of his life.
He was a member of the Alumni Board for School of the Ozarks, and in his spare time he enjoyed traveling and listening to gospel and bluegrass music. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family.
He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
